- Definition & Limitations of Products and Services
Salford Scientific Supplies Ltd provides a source of pre-owned laboratory equipment that is fully function tested and is supplied with an initial warranty that allows the buyer to return the goods if faulty or not as described.
Please read description carefully. All “USED” equipment from Salford Scientific Supplies Ltd is supplied in “AS IS” condition and is fully functional unless otherwise stated. In most cases an operation manual will be provided if you directly contact us.
All used equipment is from a working laboratory environment and will have been through a previous end user decontamination process. Salford Scientific Supplies cannot guarantee there will be no residual contamination from prior use.
Salford Scientific Supplies Ltd gives no warranty and is not liable for the suitability and safety of the equipment or information for the buyer’s application or need.
- Prices and Payment Terms
Prices quoted on Salford Scientific Supplies Ltd website are liable to change without prior notice. Prices do not include postage and packaging charges or Value Added Tax (VAT).
Payment on the website is processed by PayPal according to PayPal terms and conditions. Other forms of payment e.g. BACS, cheque can be accepted by prior arrangement.
Quotations and quoted prices are all with the disclaimer Errors and Omissions Excepted. We try our best but sometimes mistakes happen.
- Delivery
Orders will be despatched within 3 working days of cleared payment for goods. We will use Royal Mail or other reputable courier. If you have special delivery requirements then contact us in advance of order placement.
Postal insurance will be added to all orders £100 or greater to cover loss or transit damage. The cost will be 1% of product value (minimum £4.75).
- Lost or Damaged Goods
Salford Scientific Supplies Ltd has a policy of fair and reasonable handling of transit loss and damage. We will take all reasonable steps to make good any loss or damage experienced providing the customer takes following actions –
- Informs Salford Scientific Supplies Ltd of loss or damage within 5 working days of receipt of goods or 14 working days of delivery due date.
- Advises order number and full contact/address details
- The customer does not return any goods without return goods note and complaint system reference.
5. Guarantee and Warranty
Salford Scientific Supplies Ltd promises a 14 day warranty where the item can be returned if faulty or not as described. Returned items will not be accepted without prior contact (email npe@salfordscientific.co.uk) and arrangement of returned goods notification. Buyer pays return carriage.
Salford Scientific Supplies Ltd reserves the right to charge a restocking fee.
- Health & Safety
The goods are supplied with such items of safety equipment as are fitted at the time of manufacture. Any additions which shall be necessary in connection with the installation or use of the goods to satisfy the requirements of the Factories Acts, Health and Safety At Work Act or other statutory enactments for the time being in force shall be paid for separately. The buyer shall be responsible for complying at their own expense with any health and safety requirements necessary for the safe operation of the goods.
- Liability
Nothing in this clause shall be deemed to exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence.
- Cancellation
The buyer or Salford Scientific Supplies may cancel any time prior to despatch.
- Force Majeure
Salford Scientific Supplies shall not be liable to the customer as a result of any delay or failure to perform its obligations under this contract as a result of a Force Majeure Event
For the purposes of the contract, Force Majeure Event means an event beyond the reasonable control of Salford Scientific Supplies Ltd including but not limited to strikes, lock-outs or other industrial disputes, failure of a utility service or transport network, act of God, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage, compliance with any law or governmental order, rule, regulation or direction, accident, breakdown of plant or machinery, fire, flood, storm or default of supplier or subcontractors.
- Proper Law and Jurisdiction
The contract shall be governed in accordance with English law and all disputes arising in connection with the contract shall be submitted to the jurisdiction of English courts.
