The Scientifica PatchStar is a globally recognised, ultra-stable motorised micromanipulator designed primarily for patch-clamp electrophysiology, microinjections, and other delicate life science applications. It provides incredibly precise, electrically silent positioning for recording and stimulating electrodes.
- Ultra-Low Drift: Designed with leading physiologists, the manipulator drifts less than 1µm over a 2-hour period, making it ideal for long-term recordings on fine structures like dendrites.
- High Precision: Features 20nm spatial resolution. Each axis utilizes high-precision stepper motors and anti-backlash lead screws.
- Four Axes of Movement: Offers X, Y, and Z axes, plus a 4th “virtual approach” axis, allowing you to set penetration angles anywhere between vertical and horizontal.
- Travel Distance: Provides 20mm of travel per axis.
- Quick Pipette Exchange: Features a unique sliding bracket and rotational stages that allow you to swap pipettes quickly, bringing you back to patching in seconds.
